Ficus bonsai 60-70 cm high. A bright place with shading from direct sunlight in summer is suitable for ficus. Bonsai are watered as the topsoil dries up - if it is dry at a depth of a few millimeters, then it's time to water. When transplanting, the plant is provided with fresh soil. As a rule, young plants are cut back annually, and adults - once every 2-5 years (see pages 32-35). For deciduous plants, the roots are cut in early spring, during the swelling of the buds, for evergreens - in March. The exception is spring-flowering trees, for which this procedure is carried out immediately after flowering.
